Forgot to post this on Friday, so here it is now:

Bury Me With It – Modest Mouse

Bury Me With It is such an awesome song. All the lyrics to Modest Mouse songs are so thought-provoking, and depressing at times, but you just can’t help loving them.

Am I Too Young? 05/08/2009

Today, I was thinking. There’s so much stuff in the papers nowadays about how Gordon Brown fails and how the economy is failing, and I just thought… Why should I care about this? I’m only fourteen, is this all there is to the world? Maybe I’m too young, mentally, but…

There’s so much more I could be doing, than worrying about some old geezer and his money. It seems like people forget about everything else that’s awesome.

Some people I know already have strong political beliefs, and that’s fine, but, well… I guess I don’t want to waste my youth growing up!

I want to take risks, and do crazy things, fall in love, and travel the world.

Not necessarily in that order, though. :)

Politics and money and worrying about stupid things… People are so narrow-minded these days. They’ve let go of their inner child, and as a result, they’re constantly bored, and depressed…

Quoting XKCD here,

“Take wrong turns. Talk to strangers. Open unmarked doors. And if you see a group of people in a field, go find out what they’re doing. Do things without always knowing how they’ll turn out… You’re curious and smart and bored, and all you see is the choice between working hard and slacking off. There are so many adventures you miss because you’re waiting to think of a plan. To find them, look for interesting choices. And remember that you are always making up the future as you go.”

Yeah, it’s a pretty long quote, but I find it immensely inspirational. If it’s true that you only live life once, you have to do everything this tiny planet has to offer. Why get stuck in a rut? Why do exactly the same thing, every day?

Life is for living, not for thinking. It’s cheesy but it’s true.

Children! 03/08/2009

Today, when I was at my gran’s, her friend came over with her Greek grandchildren. They’re so cute! They’re aged five and nine respectively, and they are bilingual, although Dana is not as accomplished at English as her older brother.

They both love video games. Like, crazily. I suppose there’s not much else to do when you’re in a strange country. They must be so nervous, coming to Scotland. But they seemed excited to me. xD

But to be honest, I can only stand so much children around me, Greek or not, so it did get a bit annoying after a while, with Greek children following me and telling me about Tom and Jerry. :P

I think it’d be a good idea to unleash some of my favourite music on the interwub. For the first week, let’s start with something… explosive.

Infinity Milk by Dananananaykroyd

Dananananaykroyd are quite shouty, but there’s no way they’re screamo. This song in particular reminds me of how most people these days have closed minds, only caring about fashion and what other people think. It’s awesome. I like these lyrics in particular:

“God please send me guidance and the perfect halter-neck
When a door becomes a war
We’ll win with our effortless style”

But it’s aaawwwll gooood. :P

Hello, interwubs! The great thing about blogs (unprofessional ones, at least) is that there is no schedule, no regularity required. This takes a whole load of pressure off of my procrastinating mind. But, looking at some other people’s blogs, there seems to be a lot more dedication than here. Even when they have no other readers than their nosy friends!

Then again, I am not interested in being any sort of internet famous. That is not my style.

I am not sure what my style is, as yet, but I have enough time to work it out, right?

Sometimes I can’t believe I had an ambition to be a journalist. xD It is so organised, deadlines terrify me!

At the moment, I am content just to chillax and listen to music. I can work everything out in my own time.

Have you seen the new Volkswagen Passat advert? Positive thinking? I don’t know about you, but I got the message that “Yeah, all this bad stuff is happening to you, but dude, you’ve got a schweet car.”

I don’t know how I feel about that. xD

On the other hand, the new Hula Hoops ads are RAD.

Five Ways I’d Like To Be Kissed:

  • On the highest branch of a really tall tree
  • Underwater
  • In the rain, at night
  • Whilst skydiving
  • By someone who loves me as much as I love them.

Boom!
